Jose Mourinho gave a blunt reaction to Christiano Ronaldo’s stunning return to Man Utd, simply saying, “If Juventus are happy, if Ronaldo is happy and if United are happy, then it’s a perfect deal.”
Ronaldo stunned the world of football on Friday after he officially rejoined the Red Devils, 12 years after leaving old Trafford to sign with Real Madrid.
The five-time Ballon d’OR winner was widely expected to leave Juventus this summer, but had reportedly lined up a move with United’s local rivals Man City instead.
However, after Man United declared their interest in reuniting with the Portuguese superstar, his move to Man City ws derialed.
The stunning transfer is the latest move in perhaps the most shocking window in recent memory, which have seen the likes of Lionel Messi, Romelu Lukaku, Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho all moved as well.
Despite the spectacular transfer, manager Jose Mourinho had little to say on the deal, which will reportedly see Ronaldo earn around £480k a week.
“What I can say is basic, it’s logical,” Mourinho told Sport Witness.
“If Juventus are happy, if Ronaldo is happy and Man Utd are happy then it’s a perfect deal–he has written history for the last 20 years. I have nothing more to comment.”
Jose Mourinho managed Ronaldo’s Real Madrid side between 2010 and 2013, Leading Los Blancos to a single la Liga title during his tenure.
