Jurgen Klopp says is is expecting an ‘absolutely outstanding’ atmosphere as Liverpool travel to face Leeds at Elland Road this weekend.
Liverpool face Leeds on Sunday looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, with Klopp expecting a feverish atmosphere after last season’s clash was played behind closed doors.
That fixture saw the Reds held to a 1-1 draw as Diego Llorente’s late goal salvaged a point for Leeds and Klopp is anticipating another difficult test against Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘brave’ side.
“Everybody tells me that the atmosphere is absolutely outstanding so I’m looking forward to it,” Klopp told his pre-match press conference.
“We have some people who can tell us how it will be with Milly (James Milner) but the game itself is already tricky, we saw it in the last two games we played against them, it was really exciting.
“They obviously have a specific way of playing the game with a strict man marking philosophy or idea and very flexible, brave and dynamic in possession.
“It’s a really good football team and we have to be at our best to get something there.”
Liverpool are set to be without Brazilian trio Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino as a result of the club vs country row over quarantine rules, though Virgil van Dijk is fit to feature despite sustaining an ankle injury whilst on international duty with the Netherlands.
