Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be keen on taking up a Manchester United coaching role once he does eventually call it quits on his stellar playing career.
The Red Devils pulled off one of the shock moves of the summer by bringing the Portugal international back to Old Trafford, 12 years after he had initially left the club to join Real Madrid in a £80m deal.
The 36-year-old had appeared set to move to rivals Manchester City towards the close of the window, before the situation was altered in just a matter of hours, as a succession of ex-players, current stars, as well as Sir Alex Ferguson convincing the prolific forward into making a more romantic return to Manchester United.
That switch has already looked like good business for both player and club, with the former Juventus man netting four goals in his first three games for the club, including bagging a brace on his United homecoming against Newcastle.
That impressive start for the veteran striker has only served to reinforce the idea that he is far from on the wane, with his current boss – and former teammate – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitting this week that he believes Ronaldo could well play into his 40’s.

Although any retirement still appears way in the distance, the Sun are reporting that he is keen to take up a coaching role at the club when he does eventually bring his remarkable playing career to a halt.
The report suggests that while that is still a few years away, Ronaldo is keen to take on a role helping to develop the next batch of young talent at the club, including his son, Cristiano Jr, who is currently training with the youth team.
He is said to be desperate for the 11-year-old to also make it in the professional game, with the youngster having previously played for the Juventus youth side during his father’s three-year stint in Turin.
