Chelsea and Man City named as potential suitors for Leipzig’s Nkunku

Chelsea and Manchester City have been named as potential suitors for Christopher Nkunku as the midfielder’s impressive form for RB Leipzig attracts interest.

Nkunku has began the season in fine form with the Bundesliga side and has scored nine goals in 10 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig, including scoring a Champions League hat-trick during the club’s thrilling 6-3 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad.

 

The 23-year-old became just the fourth player to score a hat-trick in the competition and end up on the losing side, his performance having reportedly not gone unnoticed by City who have been credited as suitors alongside Chelsea.

Foot Mercato are reporting that the Premier League duo along with Real Madrid are all weighing up moves for the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who could be the latest name to leave Leipzig for one of Europe’s elite.

Nkunku is comfortable in a variety of roles across the midfield and further forward, having occupied positions on both flanks and centrally for Jesse Marsch’s side so far this season.

He previously worked under now Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel at PSG, but departed for Germany after struggling to command a regular role at the Ligue 1 side.
