Marcus Rashford’s camp have reportedly been left ‘upset’ by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments that the Manchester United forward should “prioritise his football.”
Rashford made his return from a shoulder injury during Manchester United’s 4-2 defeat at Leicester this weekend, coming off the bench to score his side’s equaliser before the Foxes scored twice late on to secure three points.
The 23-year-old’s involvement came after comments from Solskjaer that the star should “prioritise his football” after a lengthy absence from the side, comments which – whilst argued to have been misinterpreted – are believed to have upset those around the player.
Rashford has worked tirelessly to combine his charity and campaign work alongside his football, The Athletic reporting that the forward is renown for his ‘ferocious dedication to his profession’.
Given that dedication, Rashford’s camp are believed to have been left irked by Solskjaer’s comments, which have inadvertently fuelled a notion that has questioned the star’s priorities.
Rashford’s return from injury has come ahead of schedule and he has been a mainstay of the side since breaking through as a teenager, making 50+ appearances in each of the past five seasons and scoring 89 goals in all competitions.
The England international trails only Kylian Mbappe for league goals in Europe’s top five leagues amongst players aged 23 or under, whilst he has also netted 12 times for the Three Lions at international level.
