Paul Pogba has ‘not shown any inclination’ that he will sign a new contract at Manchester United as the midfielder seemingly prepares to leave the club as a free agent, again.
Pogba’s current deal expires at the end of the current campaign and it looks increasingly unlikely that the midfielder will sign an extension, with the January transfer window representing the last opportunity for the Red Devils to bring in a fee for the 28-year-old.
The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Pogba has ‘not shown any inclination’ that he is prepared to commit to a new contract, and as the winter window approaches the transfer speculation will increase.
Pogba will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides from January 1, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain having all been linked with signing the France international.
The finances surrounding a deal could dictate his destination, with United having been able to attract significant interest in the midfielder over recent years, especially in the wake of the global pandemic that restricted spending outside the Premier League.
His departure will not represent the huge blow it once appeared, however, with Pogba having struggled for form since a bright opening to the Premier League campaign, being sent off as a substitute against Liverpool last month before an anonymous showing against Atalanta in midweek.
His future has rarely been far from the headlines in recent seasons and a conclusion to his second spell at Old Trafford could be rapidly approaching.
