Real Madrid remain keen on signing Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea, with the defender yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger has entered the final months of his current contract and will be free to negotiate with foreign sides from January 1, the centre-back attracting interest from across Europe with Real Madrid amongst those interested in his signing.
The Germany international has been an integral figure for the west Londoners since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival as head coach, proving influential during Chelsea’s run to Champions League success last season and starting nine of the Blues’ 10 league fixtures this term.
Despite his importance, Rudiger has failed to agree terms on a new contract at Chelsea, with the European champions so far unwilling to match the defender’s demands.
AS are reporting that Real Madrid are monitoring his situation closely with Rudiger viewed as the ideal signing for the Spanish giants, who saw both Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos depart the Bernabeu last summer.
Rudiger would represent an experienced replacement for that duo at the heart of the defence, with the 28-year-old having amassed experience in Germany, Italy and England.
Rudiger is aware his next contract could be his last major deal in football and could receive several offers for his services this winter, the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also understood to be considering a move.
He has made 163 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Roma in 2017, winning the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League during his time with the club.
