Ralf Rangnick has spoken at length with Ole Gunner Solskjaers to glean the former manager’s insight into the current Manchester United squad, our new interim boss has revealed.
The German coach was unveiled to the press on Friday morning and is set to take his first game in charge as United manager on Sunday at home against Crystal palace.
Ole Gunner Solskjaers was United manager over the last three years, but was dismissed if his role after a couple poor performance.

“I spoke with Ole last Sunday before the game against Chelsea for almost two hours”, Rangnick told reporters at Old Trafford.
“He was very gorgeous to spend, as I said [more than] one-and-a-half hours on the phone with me, telling all his inside details of the team.”
The new boss answered a wide variety of questions but a consistent theme in his first press conference as boss surrounded his aims for the next couple of years,not just this season.
When asked whether United have the quality to challenge for the major honours, the 63-year-old explained his confidence in the side.
“It’s definitely good enough to compete”, he said.
“The top three teams are very good with great managers, when Jurgen [Klopp] came to Liverpool, it definitely wasn’t a better squad than what I have at United”.
Having described there being an ‘abundance of talent’ in the squad, Rangnick was asked about where he hopes the club will be in the future.
“Well, in the ideal world, we’ll not only be in the top four regularly but also playing for titles,” he answered.
“This is also something that is in the DNA of the club, winning leagues, winning cups, being successful as you can be in the champions league”.
“This is also an issue for the New year, we are still in the champions league and depending on the draw, hopefully we can get further in that competition and in two-and-a-half-years I think the DNA of the club is clearer, you have to be as successful as you can be.”
