“He represent a lot of things of this club: Raphael Varane reveals one aspect where Ole Gunner Solskjaer is ‘similar’ to Zinedine Zidane.
“I spoke with him [Ole Gunner Solskjaer] before signing here.” Raphael Varane said in an interview with the Times.
“He’s very good person and humble with important values in the short time here he taught me a lot of things, values, and a lot of things about the club, the mentality of the club.
“He represent a lot of things of this club: very respectful, humble. He always tried to to do his best.”
The Man United center-back continued: “Sometimes when you speak about something sensitive, it’s like a bit negative because it’s like a weakness.
“But it’s not true. It’s a strength. Because when he speaks with a player, he’s honest. It’s important to manage and for leadership to be honest with his players and specially point it’s similar with zizou [Zinedine Zidane].
“Maybe that’s why I like this feeling. It was a short time working with him but I learn a lot.”
Manchester United made the decision to relieve Solskjaer of his duties following the 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, despite no concrete succession plan, at the time, being in place.
However, Man United, who have since appointed experienced German coach (Ra-Ra) Ralf Rangnick as Solskjaer’s replacement, felt they were left with no choice but to axe the Norwegian, who dad overseen embarrassing defeat to both Liverpool and Manchester City before the humbling in Hertfordshire.
