Ralf Rangnick says his issue with Anthony Martial is ‘resolved’ following talks with the Manchester United forward.
Martial is keen to leave the Red Devils this month and was left out of the squad for Saturday’s draw at Aston Villa, with Rangnick having suggested that the France international refused to be included in the matchday squad at Villa Park.
The 26-year-old refuted those claims on social media and claimed he would ‘never’ refuse to play or disrespect the club and Rangnick has now confirmed that the issue has been resolved following a ‘personal conversation’ between the interim boss and Martial.
“I had a personal conversation with him on Sunday about what happened and how I saw the whole situation and the matter is now resolved,” Rangnick said at a press-conference ahead of United’s trip to face Brentford tomorrow evening.
“He did not train yesterday and the day before yesterday, he will probably train today and after training I will decide if he is selected or not.”
Martial has been linked with a loan exit this month with Sevilla, Juventus and Barcelona all reportedly interested, though no side has yet met the Red Devils’ demands for a loan fee and the forward’s wages paid in full.
Martial is understood to have rejected approaches from Tottenham and Newcastle with the Frenchman keen on a move abroad after seven seasons at Old Trafford.
