Spurs ‘closing in’ on securing Adama Traore transfer deal

Tottenham are ‘closing in’ on the signing of Adama Traore from Wolves with the two clubs expected to agree a deal in the region of £20m.

The North London side saw an opening offer of £15m for Traore rejected by Wolves last week, but negotiations have continued and the two sides are expected to reach a compromise.

Antonio Conte is keen to bring the Spain international to Spurs as he looks for reinforcements in wide areas, with the 52-year-old believed to view Traore as an option at right wing-back.

Sky Sports are reporting that Traore has failed to sign a new contract despite a proposal from Wolves and the club are now prepared to sanction his sale given the winger has just 18 months on his contract at Molineux.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue should a fee be agreed in the coming days as Spurs prepare for a busy end to the transfer window, with the deadline for deals next Monday (January 31).

Conte is also keen to add a forward and a midfielder to his squad before the deadline, whilst there could also be a number of departures with Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli among those who could leave this month.
