Arsenal have received loan offers from Barcelona and Juventus for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has not featured for the Gunners since being stripped of the club captaincy for a disciplinary breach, with the North London side having since left the forward out of their squad for a training camp in Dubai this week.
Arsenal are open to Aubameyang leaving and would want his £350,000-a-week wages covered, whilst there is a preference from the Gunners for a deal longer than the remainder of the current season.
The Athletic are reporting that Aubameyang’s destination could depend on the future of Alvaro Morata, who is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona are interested in signing Morata and his exit would make Juventus a more probable destination. A deal is, however, described as unlikely which could lead Barcelona to pursue Aubameyang instead as the club look to bolster their attacking options.
It remains to be seen how Barcelona would facilitate a move for Morata or Aubameyang, however, given the club’s current financial situation.
The Spanish side required Samuel Umtiti to accept a reduced contract in order to free room on their wage bill for Ferran Torres earlier in the window and are close to agreeing a loan deal for Wolves winger Adama Traore.
Barcelona are keen to move on Ousmane Dembele before the deadline after the winger’s decision to turn down a new contract, despite the winger’s desire to remain at the Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old is open to a new deal but is unhappy with the reduced terms currently on offer and is a free agent at the end of the current season.
