Harry Kane reached a goalscoring landmark during Tottenham’s recent 3-2 win at Leicester, the forward scoring the 250th goal of his club career at the King Power Stadium.
Kane has been amongst the elite goalscorers in world football in recent seasons and is seventh on the Premier League’s all-time scorers list, having won the division’s Golden Boot on three occasions and netted 171 league goals for the North London side.
Following the England captain’s latest landmark, we’ve broken down the numbers behind Kane’s 250 club career goals.
Goals scored for
- Tottenham – 234 goals in 365 appearances
- Millwall – Nine goals in 27 appearances
- Leyton Orient – Five goals in 18 appearances
- Leicester – Two goals in 15 appearances
- Norwich – No goals in five appearances
The wealth of Kane’s goals have come in the colours of Tottenham, where the 28-year-old is now second in the club’s all-time leading scorers list behind the late Jimmy Greaves.
Kane’s breakthrough came during the 2014/15, having previously spent several loans away from the North London club with mixed success.
Kane scored five goals during a short spell with Leyton Orient in the third tier, including a goal on his first league start, before stepping up to Championship level and impressing during another loan at Millwall.
He failed to make an impression during later stints at both Norwich and Leicester, but grasped his chance at Spurs to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2014/15.
Kane has since won the Premier League’s Golden Boot on three occasions, a feat only previously achieved by Thierry Henry (4) and Alan Shearer (3).

Kane’s milestone moment fittingly came against Leicester in midweek, a club who have been regularly haunted by their former loanee in recent seasons.
Kane has scored an incredible 18 goals in just 17 appearances against the Foxes, making the East Midlands outfit comfortably his preferred opponent in club football.

He has also reached double figure hauls against Everton, West Ham, Southampton and Stoke, whilst the England international is now also the all-time leading scorer in North London derbies.
Competitions
- Premier League – 171
- Championship – 9
- League One – 5
- FA Cup – 14
- EFL Cup – 7
- Champions League – 20
- Europa League – 18
- Europa Conference League – 6
Kane’s 171 goals in the Premier League have seen him rise to seventh in the all-time rankings, moving past Robbie Fowler (163) last season with Thierry Henry (175) within his sights before the end of the current campaign.
Kane’s average of 0.65 goals-per-game ranks behind only Henry (0.68) and Sergio Aguero (0.67) amongst the players to score more than a century of goals in the division, whilst he is well on course to join only Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney in reaching the 200-goal mark.
The forward won a third career Golden Boot during a brilliant 2020/21 season, becoming just the third player – after Andy Cole and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – to lead the league for goals and assists in the same season.
Kane’s 2016/17 season is also the best goal-per-game ratio of any past Golden Boot winner, having scored 29 goals in just 30 appearances (0.97).

Kane has enjoyed a prolific record in the Champions League, becoming the fastest player in the competition’s history to reach 20 goals after achieving the feat in 24 games.
That record has since been broken by Erling Haaland, whose remarkable return in Europe saw the Norwegian reach 20 goals in just 14 appearances.
This season also saw Kane become the first player to have scored hat-tricks in each of Europe’s three competitions, following a treble against Mura in the inaugural Europa Conference League season.
Highest scoring seasons in all competitions
- 2017/18 – 41 goals
- 2016/17 – 35 goals
- 2020/21 – 33 goals
- 2014/15 – 31 goals
- 2015/16 – 28 goals
Kane’s most prolific season saw the forward eclipse the 40-goal barrier in all competitions, netting 41 goals for Tottenham during the 2017/18 campaign.
He remarkably missed out on the Golden Boot despite reaching 30 league goals for the first time in his career, finishing two behind Mohamed Salah as the division’s leading scorer.

Kane also averaged a goal-per-game in the FA Cup (4 in 4) and Champions League (7 in 7), joining a select group of Premier League players – including Andy Cole, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Salah – to reach 40 goals in a single season.
He has also reached 30+ goals on a further three occasions, including the 33 goals he scored for Spurs last season.
