Jurgen Klopp admits leaving players out of his side is the part he likes ‘least’ about managing Liverpool, but has praised the professionalism of his squad.
Liverpool have an abundance of options in their squad at present, with the arrival of Luis Diaz during the January transfer window having added another exciting name to their forward ranks.
The Reds currently have a relatively clean bill of health when it comes to squad fitness and Klopp has admitted he struggles when it comes to making decisions on leaving players out of the side.
Speaking ahead of the club’s clash with Norwich in the Premier League this weekend, Klopp praised his squad as ‘absolutely incredible’ for their continued application behind the scenes.
“It’s the part I like least. It’s easy when the boys give you reasons like spending three nights in a bar or a pub, but we have never had that,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.
“None of these players deserve it so far and all of the decisions are really difficult, but it is all part of the game and the business.
“There might be a chance you start next week. Keep yourself in a good place. Be angry with me, no problem, but the next day show up and be the best you can be.
“If you drop in training, it is not the solution. But it hasn’t happened the group is absolutely incredible. You have to make sure you are in the squad, I am only the observer.”
