Arsenal looking to bolster in four positions this summer, including signing two strikers

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad in four positions this summer, including signing two centre-forward options.

Mikel Arteta will continue his rebuild of the north Londoners with another active summer in the transfer market, a period in which the Gunners will prioritise the additions of a midfielder and two new forwards.

Arsenal are also interested in signing left-sided centre-back and right-back to bolster their defensive options, in addition to a winger as the club look to build on the progress of this season.

Arteta spent £142m on a host of new arrivals last summer, with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Martin Odegaard having improved an emerging core of young talent at the Emirates.

The Evening Standard are reporting that Arsenal’s budget will depend on whether the Gunners can secure Champions League qualification, with the north London side currently fourth in the Premier League and in pursuit of a return to Europe’s elite after a five-season absence.

The arrivals of two new forwards will be crucial to Arsenal’s hopes ahead of next season, given both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this summer.

Jonathan David, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alexander Isak are believed to be the club’s leading targets, whilst there is also interest in Chelsea’s Armando Broja following his impressive loan at Southampton.

Elsewhere, Douglas Luiz, Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans have been mentioned as Premier League targets to strengthen in midfield, whilst the performances of Djed Spence at Nottingham Forest – including an impressive showing to eliminate Arsenal from the FA Cup – have made the on-loan Middlesbrough defender a target at right-back.
