Manchester United are considering a move to sign Tammy Abraham from Roma, according to reports in Italy.
Abraham has enjoyed an excellent first season with Roma after signing from Chelsea in a £34m deal last summer, scoring 23 goals in all competitions for the Italian side.
The 24-year-old’s double in a 3-0 in over Lazio last weekend saw Abraham surpass Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella’s joint-record of 21 goals scored in a debut season at the Stadio Olimpico.
Abraham’s impressive form is now understood to have alerted Manchester United, with Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, as per Football Italia, reporting the Red Devils are considering an approach.
United are expected to enter the market for a centre-forward this summer with Edinson Cavani set to leave on a free transfer, whilst there remains uncertainty over the future of Anthony Martial.
Abraham was linked with several Premier League sides – including Arsenal – last summer, but opted for a new challenge and has thrived since his arrival in Serie A.
The England international was included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming fixtures with Ivory Coast and Switzerland, but has since withdrawn from the squad with a back problem.
