Ronald Araujo is set to turn down interest from the Premier League and sign a new contract at Barcelona.
Araujo’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next season and Barcelona have been in negotiations with the defender over a new deal, with several Premier League clubs having monitored developments at the Camp Nou.
Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with an approach for the Uruguay international, who has become a key figure for the Spanish side across the past two seasons.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Araujo is set to turn down lucrative approaches from English clubs, however, and commit his future to the Catalans.
…and it’s important to say that Araújo has been more than serious and committed in the negotiations with Barcelona. Premier League clubs approached him offering big salaries but it was never an option for Ronald. 🇺🇾 #FCB

Aruajo is set to sign a new long-term deal with Barcelona that will run until 2026, ending speculation over his future and providing a huge boost to Xavi’s rebuild of the side.
The 23-year-old has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this season and has scored four goals, including finding the net in the club’s 4-0 El Clásico thrashing of Real Madrid last month.
Barcelona also remain in talks over a new deal for Gavi, with the 17-year-old having enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough this season to become a first-team regular at club level and Spain’s youngest ever debutant.
The teenager’s current deal expires in 2023 and has a release clause of €50m (£42m).
