Mikel Arteta has called on Arsenal to ’embrace the challenge’ as the Gunners look to bounce back from Monday’s 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
Arsenal’s hopes of securing a top four finish suffered a blow after losing to the Eagles in a poor performance at Selhurst Park, a defeat which leaves the North Londoners outside the Champions League places on goal difference.
Arteta’s side had won six of their previous seven games with the Spaniard labelling the manner of the loss to Palace as ‘unacceptable’, and the Arsenal boss has now called on his team to respond against Brighton this weekend.
Arsenal will be without the injured Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey for the clash with the Seagulls, though Arteta insists his side must ’embrace the challenge’ as the club look to return to winning ways.
“Embrace the challenge. You lost, now you want to win. It’s hurting and you are still hurting we lost two big players,” Arteta told his pre-match press conference.
“Important players for us for sure but we cant be crying for that because they aren’t going to be available so we have to find other solutions to be as good and as competitive as before.”
