Pep Guardiola wants to sign Erling Haaland ‘at all costs’ with Manchester City pushing to sign the Borussia Dortmund forward.
Haaland is at the centre of a transfer tussle between Europe’s elite clubs as the forward’s €75m release clause becoming active this summer, with Manchester City and Real Madrid the front runners in the race for his signature.
City have made Haaland their leading target as the Premier League champions look to sign a centre-forward and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the club are making a ‘big effort’ to persuade the Norwegian to the Etihad.
Guardiola is understood to want to sign Haaland ‘at all costs’ and views the 21-year-old as the perfect summer signing, though City are awaiting a decision from the forward and his representatives.

Real Madrid remain in the race to sign Haaland and will look to secure a deal this summer, as the Spanish giants seek to conclude transfers for both the Dortmund forward and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested, but are unable to match the financial packages on offer from City and Real Madrid.
City’s package is believed to be the most lucrative proposal, though Haaland’s main motivation will be the sporting project and a decision on his future is expected to be communicated soon.
Haaland has scored 80 goals in 84 appearances since signing for Dortmund in a €20m deal from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
