Erik ten Hag is ready to ‘raid’ Ajax following his appointment at Manchester United and is targeting a move for Antony.
United are expected to confirm the appointment of Ten Hag as the club’s next permanent manager and the Dutchman will return to his former side as he looks for new additions at Old Trafford, with the signing of Antony on his transfer wish-list.
The 22-year-old has starred since signing for Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020 and has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions this season.
The Sun are reporting that the Red Devils are interested in a deal that could exceed £50m, for a player familiar with Ten Hag’s style and who could solve the club’s problem position on the right wing.
Antony was signed as a replacement for Hakim Ziyech at Ajax and has since developed into one of Dutch football’s most exciting young talents, earning nine caps for Brazil since being handed his senior debut in 2021.
He will form part of the squad that travels to Qatar for the World Cup later this year and Ten Hag is keen to conclude an early deal and avoid the risk of his value increasing with a strong tournament.
