Manchester City took a major step towards regaining their Premier League crown by winning 5-1 away at Wolves.
As is so often the case, Pep Guardiola’s side struck early with talisman Kevin de Bruyne clinically finishing with his left after being perfectly slipped through by Bernardo Silva after seven minutes.
However, Wolves struck back just four minutes later when Leander Dendoncker curled home a Pedro Neto cut back from the edge of the area.
Not long after though it became apparent we were witnessing a KDB masterclass, the brilliant Belgian following his own through ball to Raheem Sterling and lashing home the rebound from 12 yards out.
On 24 minutes, de Bruyne sealed his hat-trick with a sublime finish, the 30-year-old driving forward before unleashing an unstoppable low effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.
On the hour mark he had his fourth, once again arriving late into the box to hammer home with his right foot from close range.
Sterling put the icing on the cake with a tap in five minutes before the end, with tonight’s win moving City three points ahead of title rivals Liverpool with two games left to play.

Speaking afterwards, Man City manager Pep Guardiola was obviously full of praise for de Bruyne and his virtuoso display.
“He made quite often in the last this season especially in the second half he has made similar displays today but today he scored four goals. Unstoppable, brilliant, awesome, outstanding, perfect,” Guardiola told Sky Sports.
“He had the ability to create the special things.
“Always we push him to say he is incredible player, generous with assists but he has to score goals and this season is the most prolific he has had since we are together.”
Tonight’s win also saw City extend their goal difference advantage over Liverpool to seven, although Pep was quick to point out that his squadâs sole focus is their trip to the London Stadium on Sunday.
“The target is next game. If we win the next two games we will be champions. Now recover the players and play a final, the final for us is against West Ham.”
