Arsenal are ‘considering’ a double swoop on Manchester City with the club interested in signing Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Jesus has emerged as a leading target for the Gunners as Mikel Arteta looks to add at least one new forward to his options this summer, whilst the Spaniard is also keen on Zinchenko.
Arteta spent three seasons on the coaching staff at Manchester City and is understood to have a strong relationship with both players, who have emerged as targets for his rebuild at the Emirates.
The Mail are reporting that Arteta views Zinchenko as an option to strengthen his midfield, but one who could deputise at left-back when required. The Ukraine international has played most of his football for City at full-back, but features regularly in midfield for the national side.
Jesus is keen to leave City this summer in search of more regular first-team football, with the summer arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez set to reduce his opportunities at the Etihad.
The Brazil international will enter the final 12 months of his contract with the club this summer and City could cash in 25-year-old in a bid to avoid losing him for nothing in 2023.
He has scored has scored 95 goals in 236 appearances for City since arriving from Palmeiras in 2018, winning four Premier League titles.
Zinchenko’s situation is less clear and he has continued to insist he wants to remain and fight for a place at the Premier League champions, but made just 10 league starts in 2021/22.
City have also been credited with an interest in signing a new left-back and have been linked with Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.
