Chelsea are favourites to sign highly-rated Barcelona attacker Ousmane Demebele this summer.
The 25-year-old began his career in his native France and after showing plenty of potential at Rennes he earned a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
Dembele quickly became one of the most sought after young talents in Europe during his single season with Dortmund, the pacey wideman racking up 21 assists and 10 goals in the 2016/17 campaign.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was the Dortmund coach at that time and according to TalkSport the German coach remains a massive fan of Dembele’s and is eager to add the France international to his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
Dembele moved to Barcelona for a massive £126 million in 2017 but a combination of injury and disciplinary issues have prevented the winger from fulfilling his obvious potential.
Despite these issues current Barca boss Xavi is a massive fan of Dembele’s and his performances have improved this season since the former Spain midfielder took over at the Nou Camp, with an impressive return of 13 assists in 15 La Liga starts a testament to this.
However, Dembele’s Barca contract will expire this month and although both parties would be willing to extend his stay the Catalan clubs dire financial situation means the hugely talented attacker is likely to depart on a free transfer in the coming weeks.
