Liverpool agree deal for Calvin Ramsay

Liverpool have agreed a £6.5m deal to sign teenage right-back Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.

Ramsay is set to travel down to Merseyside to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms after the Reds reached an agreement to pay an initial £4m for the defender, which Sky Sports are reporting could rise to £6.5m with add-ons.

The 18-year-old will provide cover at right-back and his arrival could pave the way for Neco Williams to leave Liverpool this summer, with both Fulham and Nottingham Forest keen on a deal for the Wales international.

Williams spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, helping the Cottagers to the Championship title, and is valued in the region of £15m at Anfield.

Ramsay will become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer after the arrival of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, whilst Fulham teenager Fabio Carvalho is also set to move to Anfield on July 1.

The full-back made 24 league appearances for Aberdeen last season and was named as the SFWA Young Player of the Year.
