Gareth Bale could be set for a return to the Premier League as a number of clubs consider an approach for the Wales captain.
Bale is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid this summer and is assessing his options following the end of his nine-year spell with the Spanish giants.
The 32-year-old is keen to secure regular first-team football ahead of Wales’ World Cup campaign in Qatar and the Sun are reporting that former club Tottenham are among the clubs contemplating a move.
Bale spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan with the North Londoners after falling out of favour in Madrid, having previously enjoyed a successful six-year spell with Spurs before his £85m then-world record move to the Bernabeu in 2013.
Newcastle and Aston Villa are also rumoured to be interested, whilst newly-promoted Nottingham Forest – under the guidance of Welsh coach Steve Cooper – are also said to be weighing up a move.
Bale has also been linked with signing for hometown club Cardiff City in the Championship and said last month that securing regular first-team football will be the major factor behind his decision.
