Arsenal’s talks to sign Gabriel Jesus are at a ‘very advanced’ stage, though both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring developments.
Mikel Arteta is closing in on the signing of his top centre-forward target, with the Gunners boss having identified Jesus as the player to improve his forward line this summer.
Jesus is keen to leave Manchester City after struggling to regular first-team football, whilst the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez will further restrict his opportunities next season.
The Brazil international – who has just one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad – previously worked alongside Arteta during the latter’s spell on the coaching staff at City.

Jesus signed for City from Palmeiras in 2018 and was viewed as the long-term successor to Sergio Aguero, though has failed to emerge as the club’s leading centre-forward across his five-and-a-half seasons in English football.
He has, however, compiled an impressive goalscoring record for the club having scored 95 goals from 151 starts across all competitions.
Tottenham and PSG are both monitoring his situation at present and remain interested in a potential deal, though Arsenal are clear front runners and will hope to add the signing of the forward to the club’s confirmed captures of Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner this summer.
