Manchester United are in talks to sign Antony from Ajax, though the club’s focus remains on concluding a deal to sign Frenkie de Jong.
Erik ten Hag is keen to bring Antony to the Premier League after a successful spell together at Ajax, with the winger having shone in Dutch football since signing from Sao Paulo in 2020.
The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals and provided ten assists in all competitions last season, would increase the Red Devils options in attacking areas and could fill what has been a problem position on the right wing.
The Telegraph are reporting that whilst negotiations with Ajax have taken place, United will wait to discover the outcome of their pursuit of De Jong before finalising other deals.
Midfield remains the focus for Ten Hag with De Jong the club’s top target, but Barcelona are demanding a premium fee for the Dutch international with talks between the clubs continuing.
Ten Hag is hopeful of concluding a deal before the club fly to Thailand for their pre-season tour on July 8 and is believed to want up to five new signings during the summer window, including additions at right-back and centre-back.
Antony appears to be the club’s focus when it comes to attacking arrivals and could join an exodus at Ajax this summer. Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui have already left the club to sign for Bayern Munich, whilst Sebastien Haller is closing in on a switch to Borussia Dortmund.
