Manchester United are weighing up a move for Leicester’s Youri Tielemans as Erik ten Hag looks to rebuild the Red Devils midfield this summer.
Midfield arrivals are the focus for Ten Hag during the summer transfer window and the club are close to reaching an agreement with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong.
The departures of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic have made new signings a priority in midfield and, according to The Daily Mail, Ten Hag is reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on Tielemans’ situation at Leicester.
Tielemans has entered the final 12 months of his deal with the Foxes and has been linked with a summer exit, with Arsenal having been credited with an interest in the Belgium international.
Tielemans discussed the prospect of leaving Leicester earlier this month, admitting he would ‘listen to other opportunities’ this summer.
“I feel very good at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I’ll give everything for the club until the last day,” he said, as per The Athletic.
“But of course you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way.”
Tielemans has made 158 appearances for Leicester since signing on an initial loan deal from Monaco in 2019.
He scored the winning goal as Brendan Rodgers’ side won the FA Cup in 2021 and has earned 52 caps for Belgium at international level.
