Manchester United remain in talks with Barcelona over a deal for Frenkie de Jong, with the two clubs finalising an agreement for the midfielder.
United have agreed an initial fixed fee of €65m for the Netherlands international, though the two clubs remain in talks over the structure of a further €20m worth of add-ons for the deal.
The Red Devils are yet to discuss personal terms with De Jong, who is reportedly ‘very unlikely’ to accept a reduced wage at the Camp Nou after Juan Laporta admitted there was a ‘salary issue’ with the player.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation, but admitted that ‘nothing has changed’ as the negotiations continue to drag on.

Erik ten Hag has made the signing of De Jong his focus for the summer transfer window, having worked alongside the midfielder during a successful period at Ajax.
De Jong starred for the Ajax side that won a domestic double under Ten Hag in 2018/19, before completing a €75m move to Barcelona that summer.
The midfielder has been deemed a disposable member of the Spanish side’s squad, despite a preference to remain at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona announced the free transfer signings of Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on Monday and are hopeful of raising further funds to pursue transfer targets including Robert Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva.
