Conte discusses potential exits Spurs’ fringe players

Antonio Conte has discussed potential exits from his squad with a number of names having not been included for the club’s pre-season friendly with Roma.

Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon are all not with the squad and the quartet have all been linked with exits in search of regular first-team football.

Winks has been named as a potential transfer target for Everton, while Reguilon is believed to be interesting Barcelona as the Spanish side seek full-back additions.

Both Ndombele and Lo Celso spent periods of last season out on loan and neither player features in Conte’s plans for the upcoming season.

“I think that we spoke with the club and the players are informed about the plans for the next season,” Conte said, as per football.london.

“We are talking about really good players and the club and I, we think they deserve to play games regularly. For this reason these players are not here.”

One player close to completing a move away from the north Londoners is Joe Rodon, who is nearing a loan move to Rennes.

Conte admits the upcoming World Cup is a factor in the decision to allow the 24-year-old to leave as the Wales international looks for regular minutes ahead of Qatar.

“Joe Rodon is another good player and don’t forget that in November there is the World Cup and many players want to play and play regularly. Also to prepare themselves for this important competition. I think that when the thoughts from the club and the players are the same we try to find the best solution for both.”
