Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Marc Cucurella from Brighton for a fee which could reach £62m.
Cucurella has signed a six-year contract at Chelsea after the west Londoners agreed a fee with Brighton, who will receive an initial £55m with a further £7m dependent on add-ons.
The Spaniard becomes Chelsea’s fourth-most expensive signing of all-time and the club’s fifth arrival of the summer. Teenage defender Levi Colwill has joined Brighton on loan as part of the agreement.
Cucurella starred during an impressive first season in the Premier League in 2021/22, with the 24-year-old named as Brighton’s Players’ Player of the Season and Player of the Season.

The full-back arrived from Getafe in a £15.4m deal and made 35 league appearances for Brighton last season, scoring once and providing one assist.
His 40 chances created from open play ranked third among all Premier League defenders, behind only Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James.
Cucurella will provide much-needed depth to Tuchel’s defensive options and featured as both a left wing-back and left-sided centre-back for Brighton last season.
He had been subject of a failed bid from Manchester City earlier in the window, before Chelsea made their move to seal his signing.
