Arteta discusses Arsenal ‘unity’ and how he has ‘completely’ changed the culture at the club

Mikel Arteta has discussed Arsenal’s ‘unity’ and his attempts to change the culture of the club.

Arsenal have shown notable signs of improvement under Arteta and began the Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Gunners narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season, but are primed for another challenge for the top four after a summer recruitment drive that has included the arrivals of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

Arsenal host Leicester this weekend in the first home fixture of the Premier League campaign, as the club look to begin the season with successive wins.

Arteta has opened up on his mission to rebuild the club and believes a culture reset has brought a greater sense of unity between the north Londoners and their fans.

“It was the club’s main objective at the beginning to try to completely change that and create, install and make people that are participating in the daily business with the club proud and happy and accountable for the jobs,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference.

“We have that. You can see that level of commitment and passion transmitted to our supporters. That’s why there is such a unity at the club.”
