Chelsea will only allow Pulisic to join Man United on one condition

Chelsea will only allow Christian Pulisic to join Manchester United on loan if the winger first extends his contract at the club.

Pulisic is frustrated with his role at Chelsea and open to leaving the club this summer, with United considering an approach to sign the United States international on loan for the campaign.

The 23-year-old is understood to be keen on the move, though Chelsea’s preference would be for a permanent sale. However, theĀ Daily Mail are reporting that the Blues will accept a loan deal, provided that Pulisic first extends his contract that has two seasons left to run.

Chelsea are unwilling to see Pulisic’s value decrease during a loan spell at a Premier League rival, but accept the winger’s desire for more regular minutes. He made just 13 league starts in 2021/22 and has featured for just 30 minutes across the Blues’ first two Premier League games of the season.

Pulisic wants a more regular role as he seeks rhythm ahead of the World Cup, where he will captain the United States in Qatar.

United are keen on a deal, but are operating with a limited budget that is focused towards the signing of a defensive midfielder. Erik ten Hag also wants to bring in a right-back and goalkeeper before the deadline.
