Tottenham to renew interest in Adama Traore following Dan James knockback

Tottenham are set to renew their interest in signing Adama Traore as the north Londoners look to add to their squad before the deadline.

Spurs failed with a move to sign Traore during the January transfer window, with the Wolves’ winger instead signing for Barcelona on a six-month loan deal.

The 26-year-old failed to make an impression across his 11 appearances with the Spanish side, who opted against turning his loan move into a permanent deal.

He has since returned to Wolves and scored in the 2-1 win over Preston on Tuesday night. However, he has not started any of the club’s opening three league fixtures of the campaign.

According to the Express, Spurs view Traore as a cut-price addition who can improve the depth of their attacking options. The Spaniard has less than 12 months remaining on his deal at Molineux.

Spurs’ interest comes after Leeds reportedly rejected an approach from Antonio Conte’s side for Daniel James. The Wales international scored four goals in 35 appearances after joining from Manchester United in a £25m deal last summer and Leeds have no intention to sell.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ruslan Malinovskyi ‘dreams’ of a move to Spurs, with the Premier League side having been linked with a move for the Atalanta midfielder. Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano said the Ukraine international is open to the move should Spurs firm up their reported interest.
