Thomas Tuchel insists he embracing the ‘challenge’ of building a ‘new group’ at Chelsea this season.
Chelsea have undergone squad surgery this summer with the takeover of Todd Boehly having led to multiple incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed on free transfers for Spain, while senior names in Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner have also moved on in search of new challenges.
Chelsea have brought in six new signings so far this summer, with the prospect of more to come as the club chase deals for Wesley Fofana and Anthony Gordon before next week’s transfer deadline.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Leicester, Tuchel discussed embracing the challenge of overseeing change at Chelsea.
”You enjoy working with every team,” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference.
”You embrace the team you have and not what you could have if things were different. I love the group and we speak a lot about transfer window is that when it closes, this is your group and there is no more distraction. Things are clear. This helps you build a strong squad and group that carries us.”
”So basically, of course, I am enjoying the challenge, the challenge to build a new group, and be in the middle of the Premier League.”
