Phil Foden is set to sign a new deal at Manchester City and an agreement could be finalised as early as next week.
Foden has been in negotiations with City over a new contract for some time and is understood to be close to finalising a new long-term deal at the Etihad.
The 22-year-old scored his first senior hat-trick as City thrashed Manchester United 6-3 on Sunday and in the process became the youngest ever player to reach 50 goals under Pep Guardiola, surpassing Lionel Messi.
The Athletic are reporting that Foden’s new contract could be announced as early as next week, with the England international having never considered leaving the club where he came through the academy ranks.
Foden is a boyhood Manchester City fan and has made 180 appearances since progressing to the senior side, where he has since won four Premier League titles among his major honours.
A change in management delayed a new deal, but it is expected to be confirmed in the coming days with Foden set to sign a new deal until 2027.
