Brentford to offer Ivan Toney new deal amid Premier League interest

Brentford are set to offer Ivan Toney a new contract as the club look to keep the forward out of the clutches of Premier League rivals.

Toney’s fine form since Brentford’s promotion to the top division has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides, with Manchester United, Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds among the clubs understood to be tracking his progress.

The 26-year-old has scored 18 goals in 44 top-flight appearances for Thomas Frank’s side and his strong start to the current season saw Toney included in the England squad during September’s international break.

Toney failed to make his international debut during the Nations League games with Italy and Germany but is understood to be under consideration for a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad for Qatar.

He has six goals from nine league appearances this season and the Mirror are reporting that Brentford are preparing a contract offer to secure his long-term future and ward off potential suitors.

The deal will reportedly be worth in excess of £100,000-a-week as Brentford look to reward Toney for his progress since signing from Peterborough in 2020.
