Liverpool are reportedly ‘leading the race’ to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko, as the teenager approaches the end of his contract.
Moukoko is viewed as one of the brightest talents in German football and has already made 53 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, despite not celebrating his 18th birthday until next month.
The 17-year-old is yet to agree a new contract at Dortmund and will be a free agent next summer, with SPORT reporting that Liverpool are leading Europe’s top clubs in the race for the teenager’s signature.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on a deal as he looks to improve his long-term options at Anfield and will attempt to persuade the forward to move to the Premier League.
The Reds will face competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for Moukoko, who scored 141 goals in just 88 games for Dortmund’s under-17 and under-19 sides before stepping up to senior level.
Moukoko became the youngest ever Bundesliga debutant, when making his first senior appearance for Dortmund aged just 16 years and one day in 2020.
He has scored four Bundesliga goals in four starts for Dortmund this season and has six goals in five appearances for Germany at u21 level.
