Cristiano Ronaldo has held talks with Bayern Munich as the forward looks to secure an exit from Manchester United.
Ronaldo’s career with the club appears over following an interview with Piers Morgan, in which Ronaldo says he feels betrayed by the club and has no respect for manager Erik ten Hag.
The Portugal captain claims that the Red Devils’ board have tried to force him out at Old Trafford and United said in a statement on Monday that they are currently considering their response to his comments which will be aired in full later this week.
Ronaldo expressed a desire to leave during the summer following United’s failure to secure Champions League football and looks set to push again for an exit this winter.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has held talks with Bayern Munich over the prospect of a move to the Bundesliga champions.
Bayern were linked during the summer but distanced themselves from a move over concerns over Ronaldo’s wage demands, though could revive their interest due to concerns over Sadio Mane’s fitness.
The move would provide Ronaldo with Champions League football, as he looks to maintain his record as the competition’s all-time leading scorer. Lionel Messi has closed to within 11 goals of his 140-goal record and Bayern Munich are set to take on Messi and Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.
