Joao Felix is reportedly keen to leave Atletico Madrid, though the Spanish club are yet to receive any offers.
The Portugal international joined Atleti in a deal worth €126 million back in 2019, becoming the club’s all-time record transfer.
However, since moving to the Spanish capital Felix has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in Diego Simeone’s side, starting just 53 La Liga games since his move from Benfica. He has made just five starts this season, with Simeone favouring Alvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann in recent games.
According to Spanish publication, AS, the 23-year-old would ‘welcome’ a move away from the Metropolitano amid a rift with Simeone over his status within the squad.
Simeone has recently said that he would like Felix to stay with Los Rojiblancos, though AS report that the club will be ‘attentive’ to any offers.
The La Liga side are yet to receive any approaches for the forward – who has been linked with Manchester United and PSG in recent weeks – though a player of Felix’s calibre would likely attract a number of leading clubs around Europe.
Felix still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal and Atletico would reportedly be open to a potential loan exit, in a move that could prove beneficial for all parties.
A solid showing at this month’s World Cup could drum up interest.
