Moyes to be sacked if Everton beat West Ham

West Ham are set to sack David Moyes if the club lose to Everton in the Premier League this weekend.

Moyes is under pressure following a difficult start to the season with the Hammers in the Premier League’s relegation places after a run of seven games without a win.

West Ham’s owners are keen to provide Moyes with patience following the success of recent seasons, in which the club have secured European qualification in consecutive campaigns.

However, there are huge concerns over current form and The Guardian are reporting that West Ham will reluctantly replace Moyes if the 59-year-old fails to earn a positive result against former side Everton.

Everton are also in the bottom three and winless in seven games, in what shapes as a crucial fixture for both clubs at the London Stadium on Saturday. West Ham face a difficult run of games following the clash, with fixtures against European hopefuls Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham.

West Ham invested around £160m in the squad last summer but performances have regressed this season, winning just four of their opening 19 league games.

The Hammers are pushing to bring in further reinforcements this month and have targeted a deal for Lorient forward Terem Moffi. The Nigerian has scored 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season with only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe having netted more.

The club have also shown an interest in signing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire on loan, but the England international is keen to fight for his place in Erik ten Hag’s side.
