Everton ‘preparing to make a change’ as club hold talks over Lampard future

Everton are considering Frank Lampard’s future after defeat to West Ham left the club mired in the Premier League’s bottom three.

Everton are without a win in ten games across all competitions and remain in the relegation places after a 2-0 defeat to fellow strugglers West Ham on Saturday.

Jarrod Bowen’s double condemned Everton to a sixth defeat in seven league fixtures, five of which have come against teams alongside the Toffees in the Premier League’s bottom seven.

Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s majority shareholder, attended his first game in 14 months at the London Stadium and is understood to be ‘preparing to make change’ having held talks with the board over Lampard’s future.

According to the Telegraph, potential replacements are being considered at Everton after Moshiri failed to provide assurances that Lampard would remain in his role after the loss at West Ham.

Lampard has been in charge of Everton since January 2022 and kept the club in the Premier League last season after a late revival.

He has been unable to build on that momentum this season however, with the Toffees thee points from safety and without a Premier League win since October 22.
