Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool will fight for results as the club look to improve their form ahead of a challenging run of fixtures.
Liverpool travel to face Wolves in the Premier League this weekend as the Reds look to bounce back from a run of one win in six games across all competitions.
It will be the third time in six fixtures that Liverpool have faced Wolves, following a replayed FA Cup third-round tie last month. Ahead of the clash, Klopp has discussed the challenge of facing the same opponents in quick succession.
“We’ve played teams close together in different competitions before. It happens quite frequently,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.
“We know each other better now; they have been working longer with the manager. All the games have been very competitive.”
Liverpool’s trip to Wolves begins a challenging run of fixtures for the club. Klopp’s side host Everton in the Merseyside Derby on February 13, before a clash with top four rivals Newcastle and Champions League first leg tie with Real Madrid before the end of the month.
Klopp insists he is not worried about the fixture list despite his side’s form and says Liverpool will ‘fight for results’ over the second half of the season.
“I don’t worry about fixtures at all. We have to use our time to improve. We will fight for results. There is a lot to go for, only half the season has been played.
“Wolves is the start of that and we will decide how positive that will be.
“If you win five games in a row you don’t have to prove you can win because people can see it. We have to prove that point. That is what we want; it is not bad to feel really bad after a defeat because you don’t want to feel that way again. We try to use that.”
