David Moyes says Declan Rice’s transfer fee will blow the ‘British record out of the water’ if the midfielder leaves West Ham.
Rice has been linked with an exit from West Ham after refusing to sign a new deal at the London Stadium, with a number of Premier League rivals considering a summer move for the England midfielder.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have all credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, while both Liverpool and Manchester City are expected to enter the market for midfield additions in the summer.
Rice is contracted to the Hammers until 2024, though the club possess an option to extend his deal for a further season. Moyes has reiterated his hope that Rice remains with West Ham and says any interested side will have to make the club a record-breaking offer.
Chelsea made Enzo Fernandez the most expensive Premier League player in history in a £106.8m deal last month and Moyes has insisted that Rice will command a higher fee.
Asked if he will leave, the Scot said: “I hope not, I hope he sees out his time here.
“But look, there’s a lot of talk about it and when you see what’s going about for the prices, I think Dec will be blowing that British record out of the water, that’s for sure, when it comes around.”
