Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and will send scouts to watch the defender.
Branthwaite has impressed on loan at PSV Eindhoven this season and the Dutch side saw a £15m offer for the centre-back turned down during the January transfer window. Interest is understood to be high in Branthwaite, who has impressed amid regular first-team football in the Eredivisie this season.
The 20-year-old has recovered from a difficult start to become a key figure under the management of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
He has made 19 appearances in all competitions for PSV and the Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United and Liverpool have been impressed with his performances.
Each will send scouts to monitor Branthwaite, who is an attractive option given his home-grown status and role as a left-sided centre-back.
He was allowed to leave on loan for PSV after struggling for favour under ex-Everton manager Frank Lampard, with the Dutch side’s sporting director, Marcel Brands, having been behind Branthwaite’s £1m move from Carlisle to Everton in 2020.
Roma are also monitoring his development and will join United and Liverpool in sending scouts to PSV’s Europa League clash with Sevilla next week.
