Real Madrid are said to be interested in Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Tottenham’s Richarlison as the club look to sign a centre-forward this summer.
The Spanish giants want to sign a forward to provide competition and cover for Karim Benzema, having been without a recognised option to lead the line in the Frenchman’s absence this season.
Benzema won the Ballon d’Or after firing Real Madrid to La Liga and Champions League success last season, but has suffered with injury issues during the current campaign and has made just 12 league starts.
ESPN are reporting that Los Blancos view a forward addition as ‘essential’ and have placed Vlahovic and Richarlison on their shortlist of targets. The former could become available due to the chaos at Juventus, who are ninth in Serie A after being hit with a 15-point deduction for alleged false accounting.
The club’s off-field issues could lead to a sale of stars this summer and Vlahovic will attract interest from Europe’s top clubs despite a mixed time in Turin. The Serbia international scored 29 goals in all competitions last season, a campaign in which he completed a mid-season move to Juventus from Fiorentina for a fee of €70m.
Vlahovic has eight goals in 13 league appearances this season, but has missed a period of the campaign with groin issues. Manchester United have also been linked with the 23-year-old.
Richarlison is also on the club’s list of potential targets, despite a disappointing debut season at Spurs. The forward has failed to score a Premier League goal for the north Londoners since his £60m arrival from Everton last summer, but impressed during Brazil’s World Cup campaign in Qatar. He could join international teammates Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao at the Bernabeu.
