Moises Caicedo is still ‘likely’ to leave Brighton this summer, despite his recent contract extension.
Caicedo was the subject of plenty of transfer interest in the January transfer window, with Arsenal and Chelsea both making bids to sign the Ecuadorean.
Arsenal saw a £70 million rejected while Chelsea also saw a £55 million approach knocked back before they were able to strike a British transfer record deal for Enzo Fernandez.
Caicedo had failed to turn up for training in a bid to try force a transfer to Arsenal, though having been reintroduced to the fold at Brighton, it was confirmed last week that the 21-year-old had signed a new deal to keep him at the club until 2027.
Despite that extension, Sky Sports Germany are reporting that it is still ‘likely’ that Caicedo will leave the AmEx in the summer.
They say that he is ‘on the list’ of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea, though there is no mention of Arsenal’s interest.
The Gunners did sign Jorginho from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, but have continued to be linked with midfielders.
As for Liverpool, they say that Jude Bellingham is their ‘clear’ number one priority, but Caicedo is among their ‘top alternatives’.
