Odegaard insists Arsenal taking title challenge ‘game by game’ after Fulham win

Martin Odegaard insists Arsenal will take their title challenge ‘game by game’ after the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 win at Fulham.

Mikel Arteta’s side restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table after a comfortable win at Fulham, with a first-half blitz securing three points against their London rivals.

Leandro Trossard was the architect of the win for the Gunners, as the January recruit produced three assists inside the opening 45 minutes at Craven Cottage.

Gabriel opened the scoring for the Gunners after rising highest to meet Trossard’s corner, before the latter dug out a cross for Gabriel Martinelli to nod home a second from close range. Trossard’s third assist came after he picked out the run of Martin Odegaard, with the Arsenal captain converting his 10th league goal of the campaign.

“We did really well from the start,” Odegaard told Sky Sports at full-time.

“We controlled the game and scored some good goals in the first half. The second half was a bit different but very good. He [Leandro Trossard] has brought some amazing things to the team. I love playing with him. He’s good to find the right pass. We’re really happy to have him on the team.

“It was a good ball from Leo over the head of a defender. I kept my composure and put my shot in the corner.”

Arsenal have now won five consecutive Premier League fixtures, but Odegaard insists his side will take it ‘game by game’ in their pursuit of a first league title since 2003/04.

“Same focus. We’ve said all season we’ll take it game by game. We’ll do the same things, keep working hard and see where it takes us.”

Arsenal’s attention now turns to the Europa League, as Sporting Lisbon visit the Emirates in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Thursday evening.
