Chelsea and Newcastle interested in bringing former Man City midfielder back to the Premier League

Chelsea and Newcastle are interested in a deal to bring Brahim Diaz back to the Premier League.

Diaz’s potential availability has alerted the Premier League duo who are monitoring the situation of the midfielder on loan at AC Milan.

The 23-year-old is in his third consecutive campaign on loan at Milan, who have an option to make the move permanent for a fee of £19.5m at the end of the season.

However, the Spaniard’s parent club, Real Madrid, have a buy-back option of £24m and could activate that clause before selling him on for a profit.

According to The Sun, Chelsea and Newcastle are keeping tabs on the situation ahead of a potential move.

Diaz spent four years at Manchester City as a teenager, but failed to establish himself in the senior side and made just five Premier League appearances before his move to Real Madrid in 2019.

He has impressed since a move to Milan, where he won the Serie A title last season. The one-cap Spain international has scored five goals in all competitions during the current campaign, including the winner as the Rossoneri beat Tottenham in the Champions League’s last 16.
