Tottenham have set their conditions to sell Harry Kane this summer and will demand £100m from interested clubs.
Kane’s future is uncertain as the forward enters the final 12 months of his contract and Manchester United are understood to have placed the England captain on their shortlist of centre-forward targets.
Spurs are reluctant to sell the 29-year-old to a Premier League rival and will demand a fee of £100m for Kane. In an attempt to further dissuade clubs, The Times are reporting that the north Londoners will demand that the figure is paid in full this summer, rather than in instalments which is the norm for big-money transfers.
Kane will hold talks with Spurs on his future at the end of the season, with the club also facing a decision on who leads the team next season. Antonio Conte is out of contract at the end of the campaign and could leave during the current international break, after his outburst against his squad following the draw with Southampton last weekend.
Kane’s decision will hinge on whether he feels Spurs can challenge for silverware, with the club’s wait for a major trophy extending this season. Kane has not won a major trophy in his career to date and Spurs have not lifted silverware since the 2008 League Cup.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could also express interest in signing the forward, though Kane has his sights on breaking the Premier League’s all-time goal record. He scored his 204th in the division at Southampton last weekend and is closing in on Alan Shearer’s 260-goal record.
